Day 1: Marrakech ⇢ High Atlas Mountains ⇢ Ait Ben Haddou ⇢ Skoura ⇢ Dades Valley
Your 4 Days Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour begins with an early pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech. Leaving the Red City behind, we travel through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m), the highest mountain pass in Morocco. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views, traditional Berber villages, and scenic mountain landscapes.
Our first major stop is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most famous kasbahs and a filming location for movies such as Gladiator, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones. After exploring the ancient fortified village, we continue towards Ouarzazate before passing through the lush Skoura Oasis, known for its palm groves and historic kasbahs.
The journey continues through the beautiful Valley of Roses, famous for its annual Rose Festival and locally produced rose-based products. In spring, the valley transforms into a colorful landscape filled with blooming roses. Arriving in Dades Valley, admire the spectacular rock formations known as the Monkey Fingers and enjoy stunning panoramic views before dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 2: Dades Valley ⇢ Todra Gorge ⇢ Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, continue your adventure through the beautiful landscapes of southern Morocco. Travel through traditional Berber villages and lush palm groves before arriving at the spectacular Todra Gorge, one of the most impressive canyons in Morocco. Towering cliffs reaching up to 300 meters make this a paradise for photographers and nature lovers.
After exploring the gorge, continue towards Erfoud and the Tafilalet region, known for its date palm groves and fossil discoveries. As the scenery gradually changes into desert landscapes, you will finally arrive at Merzouga and the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes.
Here, leave your vehicle behind and embark on an unforgettable camel trekking experience across the golden dunes of the Sahara Desert. Stop on top of the dunes to admire the magical sunset, take photos, and try sandboarding. Continue to Luxury The White Camp, where you will be welcomed with traditional Moroccan mint tea. Enjoy dinner, Berber music around the campfire, and an unforgettable night beneath the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga ⇢ Rissani ⇢ Draa Valley ⇢ Agdez ⇢ Ouarzazate
Wake up early to witness one of the most beautiful sunrises in Morocco as the first rays of sunlight illuminate the dunes of Erg Chebbi. After breakfast at the camp, return to Merzouga by camel or comfortable 4×4 transfer and meet your driver.
The journey continues to Rissani, a historic desert town famous for its traditional market and its importance as an ancient caravan trading center. If your visit coincides with a market day (Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday), you will have the opportunity to explore one of the most authentic souks in southern Morocco.
From Rissani, travel through vast desert landscapes before reaching the breathtaking Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river valley. Admire thousands of palm trees, traditional kasbahs, and beautiful oasis scenery as you pass through Agdez and the Anti-Atlas Mountains. Arrive in Ouarzazate in the late afternoon for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Ouarzazate ⇢ Atlas Studios ⇢ Ait Ben Haddou ⇢ Telouet Kasbah ⇢ Marrakech
After breakfast, discover Ouarzazate, often referred to as the Hollywood of Morocco. Visit the famous Atlas Film Studios, the largest film studios in Africa, where many international movies and television productions have been filmed. You may also visit the historic Taourirt Kasbah before continuing your journey.
Next, explore the magnificent Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, one of Morocco’s most iconic landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient fortified village has appeared in famous productions including Gladiator, The Mummy, Kingdom of Heaven, Prince of Persia, and Game of Thrones.
Before returning to Marrakech, stop at the beautiful Telouet Kasbah, once the residence of the powerful Glaoui family. Continue through the High Atlas Mountains while enjoying breathtaking views and traditional Berber villages. Arrival in Marrakech is expected in the late afternoon, where your unforgettable 4-day Sahara Desert adventure comes to an end.
