Spend one unforgettable night at The White Camp, one of the best luxury desert camps in Merzouga. Ride a camel across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes, watch the sunset, try sandboarding, enjoy traditional Moroccan food, and sleep in a private luxury tent with your own bathroom and hot shower.

In the evening, relax around the campfire while local Berber musicians play traditional drums under a sky full of stars. Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes before enjoying a generous breakfast with panoramic desert views.

Your experience starts at our meeting point near the famous Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga.

After parking your car safely, we’ll transfer your luggage directly to the camp before starting your camel ride through the Sahara.

The camel trek lasts around 1.5 hours, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the changing colours of the dunes, stop for photos, and watch the sunset from one of the highest dunes. If you’d like, you can also try sandboarding before continuing to the camp.

When you arrive at The White Camp, we’ll welcome you with traditional Moroccan mint tea before showing you to your private luxury tent.

Each tent includes:

After some time to settle in, enjoy a freshly prepared Moroccan dinner served in our restaurant.

Later in the evening, join us around the campfire where our local team plays traditional Berber drums while you enjoy one of the clearest night skies in the Sahara.

If you wake up early, don’t miss the sunrise over the dunes. It is one of the most beautiful moments in Merzouga.

Breakfast is served before we take you back to your vehicle by 4×4 around 11:00 AM.

Note: Fennec foxes are wild animals. We visit remote areas where they are often seen, but sightings depend on nature and cannot be guaranteed.

What to bring :

  • Please make sure you prepare a small backpack/rucksack for the camel ride (water, camera …).
  • Comfortable shoes.
  • Warm clothing in winter.
  • Sunglasses, Hat.
  • Please wear jeans, trousers, or long shorts for the camel ride to have a comfortable trek.
  • Smoking is not allowed inside the tents or restaurant. Designated outdoor smoking areas are available.
  • Please respect other guests by keeping noise to a minimum after midnight. If you would like to talk, relax, or enjoy the peaceful desert at night, you are welcome to take a walk into the dunes away from the camp.
  • Pets are not allowed (dogs, cats, or other animals).

How long is the camel ride?

Approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the season and sunset time.

Is sandboarding included?

Yes.

Sandboards are available free of charge upon request (subject to availability).

Can I book quad bikes or buggy rides?

Yes.

  • Summer temperatures can exceed 39°C (102°F).
  • Winter days are mild, while nights can become cold.
  • We recommend warm clothing from November through February.
